Sous Vide Duck Breast with Balsamic Honey Sauce

Duck breasts are great because the meat is really dark and really flavorful and tasty. Most importantly to those who are health conscious, it is actually very low in fat. However, the duck skin on top has quite a bit of fat underneath it. But if you know how to properly cook a duck breast. You can actually get rid of almost all of that fat and just be left with a really thin layer of very tasty, crispy, duck skin.

Oyster Mee Sua (Rice Vermicelli)

I love Mee Sua. My grandma used to cook Mee Sua for us on our birthdays, topped with a hard-boiled egg. Hers was a dry version and I am glad that my helper is quite closed in perfecting this dish after cooking it for the family every Tuesday (Yes, my wife fixed our daily weekday dinner menu so that our helper could get familiarized with the recipes).

Holiday Cooking

Today is a Public Holiday here in Singapore. I would like to wish all my muslim friends and readers Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri.

Although I do not celebrate Hari Raya, I have a very fruitful day at home. Besides sitting down with the 2 girls to go through their school work in preparation for their coming tests, I prepared all the three meals for the family.

Wife and I had lunch here on Monday to celebrate my 39th birthday. The restaurant had just moved to the current location at Boat Quay 2 months ago. Finding a car park lot was a real problem at the Boat Quay area and we arrived late because of that.

I had the honour of having the company of three lovely babes from the office to celebrate my birthday early last week. Jennifer, QJ and GL made a lunch reservation last Friday at Bistro Petit Salut at Holland Village. This is a French bistro under the same management as Au Petit Salut.

Vera is Se7en!

CJ and Jazz organized a pool side party for Vera's 7th Birthday last Sunday. The kids had an afternoon of splashing great fun swimming in the pool and playing with the water guns while the papa and mama wine kakis caught up over food and wine.
